The XRM-DVI-D-RX is an I/O Module which enables reception of a single channel of DVI data. The data is interfaced to the FPGA though a digital receiver chip, providing a wide parallel data stream to the FPGA.
The XRM includes an EERPOM that will be connected to both the DDC signals on the DVI socket and an I2C interface on the XRM connector via a multiplexer. This allows the storing (via the attached FPGA board) and interrogation (by the source of the DVI data) of EDID data.

The EDID EEPROM is an I2C device. It can be programmed and verified from the FPGA and read through the DVI-D connector.
